Photorealism: Tad Suzuki paints his favorite cafe scenes [Gallery]
A friend on mine brought the art of Tad Suzuki to my attention, and I was immediately taken by his style, and the life that he brings to his canvas. At first I did a double take, thinking this was a photo run through a filter with Photoshop… then I found out what photorealism was…
Photorealism is the genre of painting based on using the camera and photographs to gather information and then from this information, creating a painting that appears to be very realistic like a photograph. The term is primarily applied to paintings from the United States art movement that began in the late 1960s and early 1970s. – from Wiki
Tad has a number of painting that can be found at his website urbanrealism.com, where he has on display many of his works, from cars and still lifes to street scenes. Many brought back good memories! For instance, “John’s Place” is one of the best breakfast joints in Victoria, BC. Tad also has his work represented by Plus One Gallery in London, UK.
